Performance & Handling
The 2012 Chevrolet Corvette is available in four different main trims-base, Grand Sport, Z06 and ZR1-as well as coupe and convertible build options available to the two lower trims. Additionally, each of the main trims features a variety of sub-trims that offer progressive upgrades to each. Both the base and the Grand Sport trims come equipped with an impressive 6.2L LS3 V8 engine that produces 430 horsepower and 424 pound-feet of torque. All 2012 Corvette trims come standard with a six-speed manual transmission with launch control, and all sub-trim levels on the base and Grand Sport trims offer the option for a six-speed Paddle Shift Automatic Transmission. The manual transmission offers 16/city, 26/highway, 19/combined mpg, while the automatic option lowers each value by 1 mpg.
The Z06 comes equipped with a more powerful 7.0L LS7 V8 engine that creates 505 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Fuel economy lowers only slights with 15/city, 24/highway, 18/combined. The premium ZR1 trim comes equipped with a 6.2L LS9 supercharged V8 engine that generates an impressive 638 horsepower and 604 pound-feet of torque. Fuel economy for the ZR1 trims comes to 14/city, 20/highway, 16/combined. |

Standard Features & Options
The base and Grand Sport trims, which differ only by the Grand Sport's upgraded larger cross-drilled brake rotors with six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers, come available in identical sub-trims: 1LT, 2LT, 3LT and 4LT. Both 1LT models come standard with Active Handling System, traction control, ABS, cruise control, auto-dimming mirrors and compass, dual power-adjustable heated sport mirrors, Xenon high-intensity discharge headlamps, automatic headlamps and foglamps, dual-zone automatic climate control and cabin air filtrations, OnStar with Directions & Connections for six months, Keyless Access with Push-Button start, leather seating surfaces, six-way power driver and passenger seats, tilt steering wheel with steering wheel-mounted audio controls, AM/FM stereo with CD player/MP3 playback (includes SiriusXM radio with three-month trial, seven speakers, automatic volume, Radio Data System (RDS),TheftLock and auxiliary audio input jack), Tire Pressure Monitoring System, run-flat tires, and variable-ratio power steering.
The 2LT trim sub-trim adds Bluetooth wireless technology for select phones with steering wheel-mounted controls, head-up display, Bose Premium Audio (includes nine-speaker system and SiriusXM Radio with 12-month subscription), and a Navigation Radio with voice recognition, 6.5" diagonal LCD color display and USB port. The 3LT adds sport seats with Lumbar and wing adjust and perforated leather, power top (convertible), luggage shade (coupe) and cargo net, power-telescoping steering column, heated seats, Universal Home remote transmitter, and Memory Package. The top 4LT sub-trim adds to or replaces features on the 3LT including, Custom Leather-Wrapped Interior Package with sueded microfiber seat inserts, two-tone leather seating surfaces, embroidered head restraints; leather-wrapped, instrument panel upper, door panel uppers and console cover (all with contrasting stitching), and a special gunmetal pattern console trim plate.
The Z06 comes available in sub-trims 1LZ through 3LZ. In addition to the base trim's 1LT features, the 1LZ adds carbon-fiber front fenders and aluminum frame with fixed-roof structure and the head-up display standard. In addition to all base 2LT features, the 2LZ adds a luggage shade and cargo net, power-telescoping steering column, heated seats, Universal Home Remote transmitter, and the Memory Package. The 3LZ tops out be adding the Custom Leather-Wrapped Interior Package, as well as upgraded sport seats with lumbar and wing adjust and perforated leather.
The top-of-the-line ZR1 begins with the 1ZR sub-trim that builds off the 1LZ and adds visible a carbon-fiber roof, roof bow, rocker extensions and front air splitter, carbon-fiber domed hood with window to supercharged engine, Brembo Carbon Ceramic Brakes, and Magnetic Selective Ride Control and Performance Traction Management. The 3ZR adds all 2LZ features, as well as sport seats with lumbar and wing adjust, as well as perforated leather, and the Custom Leather-Wrapped Interior Package.
An additional Chevrolet Centennial Special Edition upgrade is available to all high-end sub-trims, as well as optional high performance packages for the Z06 and ZR1 trims. Even more a la carte options offer a wide array of customization. |

Safety Features
In addition to sport-grade handling standard features and options, all 2012 Corvettes feature frontal and side-impact airbags, as well as driver and front passenger airbags with Passenger Sensing System. The base trim's 4-wheel ventilated braking system with cross-drilled cast iron rotors and 6-piston front calipers and 4-piston rear calipers with Bosch ABS offer a 60 to 0 mph breaking distance of 113 feet, which improves with higher trim upgrades.
